-

In addition to the new photos, Sony Pictures has released the first Ghostbusters: Afterlife poster, which features the Ghostbusters’ preferred mode of transportation – the Ecto-1! You can view the Ghostbusters: Afterlife poster in the gallery below and stay tuned for the trailer on Monday!

From director Jason Reitman and producer Ivan Reitman comes the next chapter in the original Ghostbusters universe. In Ghostbusters: Afterlife, when a single mom and her two kids arrive in a small town, they begin to discover their connection to the original ghostbusters and the secret legacy their grandfather left behind.

The movie stars Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace, and Paul Rudd. Coon plays a mom named Callie, with Grace as her science-obsessed daughter Phoebe, and Wolfhard as gearhead son Trevor. Phoebe and Trevor’s school teacher, Mr. Grooberson (played by Paul Rudd), was a kid when the Manhattan Crossrip occurred and is excited to pass on what he knows.

The film is written by Jason Reitman & Gil Kenan. It is produced by Ivan Reitman and executive produced by Dan Aykroyd, Gil Kenan, Jason Blumenfeld, and Michael Beugg. The movie is based on the 1984 film Ghostbusters (buy here), an Ivan Reitman film written by Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife is scheduled to open in theaters on July 10, 2020.

Sigourney Weaver has previously said that she, Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd will be back, and Reitman hinted that Ernie Hudson will also return.
