Scoob! Images Revealed Ahead of the First Trailer

-

Fandango is giving us a look at the first Scoob! images today before the trailer is expected to drop on Monday. You can view the images in the gallery below. Distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, the animated film opens in theaters on May 15, 2020.

The film will feature the voices of Will Forte (Last Man on Earth) as Shaggy, Zac Efron (The Greatest Showman) as Fred, Amanda Seyfried (Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again) as Daphne, Gina Rodriguez (Jane the Virgin) as Velma, Tracy Morgan (The Last O.G.) as Captain Caveman, and Frank Welker (Transformers) as Scooby. Kiersey Clemons, Jason Isaacs, Ken Jeong, and Mark Wahlberg also star.

Captain Caveman is not a part of the Scooby universe but rather a part of the larger Hanna-Barbera universe. Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels did kick off as part of Scooby’s All-Star Laff-A-Lympics in the ’70s, however.

According to the site, “We’ll see Scooby and Shaggy meet, join the intrepid young detectives Fred, Velma and Daphne in forming Mystery Inc. and close hundreds of cases, sharing previously-untold adventures along the way. Then, they must foil a diabolical plot revolving around a ghost dog known as Cerberus, discovering Scooby’s secret legacy and their own epic destiny along the way.”

Tony Cervone is directing the movie for Warner Bros. Animation. The film is produced by Chris Columbus, Pam Coats, and Allison Abbate. The executive producers are Charles Roven, Richard Suckle, Dan Povenmire, and Adam Sztykiel.

Scooby-Doo previously hit the big screen in two live-action/CGI hybrids in 2002 and 2004 starring Freddie Prinze Jr. as Fred, Sarah Michelle Gellar as Daphne, Matthew Lillard as Shaggy, and Linda Cardellini as Velma. Neil Fanning provided the voice of Scooby in those two films.
