Ad Astra Digital, 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray Releases Set for December

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment has announced the Ad Astra Digital, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD release dates today. Look for the James Gray-directed sci-fi thriller to hit Digital on December 3 (pre-order here) and 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD on December 17 (pre-order here).

In the film, when a mysterious life-threatening event strikes Earth, astronaut Roy McBride (Brad Pitt) goes on a dangerous mission across an unforgiving solar system to uncover the truth about his missing father (Tommy Lee Jones) and his doomed expedition that now, 30 years later, threatens the universe.

The Ad Astra special features include: Deleted scenes (“The Void,” “Epilogue”) with optional audio commentary by James Gray; To the Stars; A Man Named Roy; The Crew of the Cepheus; The Art of Ad Astra; Reach for the Stars; Audio commentary by director James Gray (available on Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD); and Space Age: The VFX (available on Digital only).

Ad Astra also stars Tommy Lee Jones, Ruth Negga, Liv Tyler, and Donald Sutherland. Regency Enterprises and Fox produced the movie with Bona Film Investment Company, which is handling the China release. The film was rated PG-13 for some violence and bloody images, and for brief strong language.
