Hocus Pocus 2 Brings on Workaholics Writer Jen D’Angelo

Everyone’s favorite witches are on their way back. Hocus Pocus 2 just hired on Jen D’Angelo, the writer and co-producer of Workaholics, to take on script duties, according to Collider. The sequel is happening for Disney+, the streaming service launching on November 12. D’Angelo also worked on the FOX series LA to Vegas and the CBS series Happy Together.

According to the site’s sources, D’Angelo will work to bring back the original witches Bette Midler as Winifred, Sarah Jessica Parker as Sarah and Kathy Najimy as Mary, though they reportedly aren’t attached to the project at the moment.

While we wait for more news about Hocus Pocus 2, the original film is listed as one of the launch titles for Disney+. You can check out the entire list right here.

Hocus Pocus is a constant Halloween favorite as well as a frequently seen cosplay at conventions premiered in 1993. It was written by Neil Cuthbert and Mick Garris, based on a story by David Kirschner and Garris. It was directed by Kenny Ortega. In the film, the three witches are resurrected by a boy in Salem, Massachusetts on Halloween. It wasn’t a hit at the time, but it’s become a cult film, often airing on Freeform and the Disney Channel.
