DOOM Eternal Release Date Delayed Until March 2020

-

Today the official social handles for Bethesda and id Software’s DOOM posted a note to fans letting them know that the DOOM Eternal release date has moved from November 22, 2019 to March 20, 2020 (pre-order here). The release date for the Nintendo Switch version of the game will be after that, but has not been announced yet.

Back in August, we learned more about DOOM Eternal‘s Battlemode Multiplayer, and this is the first bit of news we’ve had since then. In the post, which you can see below, id Software lets fans know that they want to make this “a game that exceeds your greatest expectations across the board.”

In addition to the DOOM Eternal  release date announcement, we learned about a few other changes. There is Invasion Mode, which will allow you to enter another player’s game as a playable demon, which will release as a free update shortly after launch.

DOOM 64 will be available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC in addition to Nintendo Switch. This will be a pre-order bonus for DOOM Eternal on all platforms, and you’ll be able to download and play the classic game for free with that pre-order. It will be available on the new game’s March 20, 2020 release date.

There have been a number of positive responses to the post, with fans talking about how they’re willing to wait for a better game.

What do you guys think about the change in release date? Let us know in the comments.
