Osgood Perkins will write and direct the supernatural thriller Incident at Fort Bragg for Lionsgate. The film is inspired by the true story of world renowned priest Malachi Martin, who was brought in by the US Government to perform a sanctioned exorcism on a young soldier. This incident took place in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, the largest military installation in the world.
FlynnPictureCo’s Beau Flynn is producing. Flynn is no stranger to the exorcism genre having produced the critically-acclaimed and commercial hit The Exorcism of Emily Rose for Screen Gems and New Line Cinema’s The Rite starring Anthony Hopkins.
Scott Glassgold of Ground Control Entertainment is also producing. Scott Sheldon of FlynnPictureCo is executive producing.
Perkins previously directed the critically-acclaimed A24 release, The Blackcoat’s Daughter, starring Emma Roberts and Kiernan Shipka, as well as I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House, starring Ruth Wilson for Netflix. Perkins’ next release will be Gretel & Hansel for Orion.
Jeff Buhler (Pet Sematary) wrote the latest draft. The previous draft was written by Evan Turner and Harrison Query who sold Incident at Fort Bragg as a pitch in a bidding war to Lionsgate.
Meredith Wieck and Aaron Edmonds are overseeing development of the project for Lionsgate.
