Watch the Intense Trailer for In the Shadow of the Moon

-

Netflix has revealed the intense trailer for In the Shadow of the Moon, which will be available on the streaming service on September 27. You can watch the trailer below and you’ll find the previously-released poster and photos in the gallery underneath.

In 1988, Philadelphia police officer Thomas Lockhart (Boyd Holbrook), hungry to become a detective, begins tracking a serial killer who mysteriously resurfaces every nine years. But when the killer’s crimes begin to defy all scientific explanation, Locke’s obsession with finding the truth threatens to destroy his career, his family, and possibly his sanity.

Directed by Jim Mickle and also starring Michael C. Hall (Safe, Cold in July, Dexter), Cleopatra Coleman (The Last Man on EarthWhite Famous) and Bokeem Woodbine (FargoSpider-Man: Homecoming), In the Shadow of the Moon is a genre-blending psychological thriller that examines the power of time, and how its passing can either bring us together or tear us apart.

The screenplay was written by Gregory Weidman and Geoff Tock. The producers are Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Rian Cahill for Automatik, Ben Pugh for 42, and Linda Moran and Jim Mickle for Nightshade. The executive producers are Fred Berger and Rory Aitken.

When Netflix announced the film, the producers said: “We are thrilled to be partnered with Netflix on In the Shadow of the Moon. Jim Mickle is a visionary director and with the spectacular Boyd Holbrook starring we have a partnership between director and leading man that promises a uniquely special film.”

Jim Mickle added: “Greg and Geoff’s script is such a great mind bender and beautifully weaves together all my favorite genres. Boyd is going to eat this role alive and show why he’s one of the best young actors working today. We’re lucky to have an incredibly talented producing team and a home like Netflix that’s excited to take chances. Any studio that makes Okja has a permanent place in my heart.”
