New Joker Banner and Why Joaquin Phoenix Would Walk Off the Set

-

Warner Bros. Pictures has revealed the new Joker banner that you are likely to see on billboards in many cities. You can view the full Joker banner in the gallery below.

Also, in an interview with star Joaquin Phoenix at the New York Times, director Todd Phillips is also asked about the actor and had an interesting bit to share. “In the middle of the scene, he’ll just walk away and walk out,” Phillips said. “And the poor other actor thinks it’s them and it was never them — it was always him, and he just wasn’t feeling it.” And after taking a breather, he said, “we’ll take a walk and we’ll come back and we’ll do it.”

Phoenix stars in the title role alongside Oscar winner Robert De Niro, and it is directed, produced and co-written by Oscar nominee Todd Phillips. Joker opens in theaters on October 4, 2019.

The plot centers around the iconic arch nemesis and is an original, standalone story not seen before on the big screen. Phillips’ exploration of Arthur Fleck (Phoenix), a man disregarded by society, is not only a gritty character study, but also a broader cautionary tale.

The film is being produced by Phillips and Bradley Cooper under their Joint Effort banner, and Emma Tillinger Koskoff. It is executive produced by Richard Baratta, Michael Uslan, Joseph Garner and Bruce Berman.
