Alexandra Daddario and Diego Boneta Join Die in a Gunfight

-

Culmination today announced that Alexandra Daddario (Baywatch, San Andreas) and Diego Boneta (Terminator: Dark Fate, Monster Hunter) will star in Collin Schiffli’s Die in a Gunfight alongside Olivia Munn (The Predator, X-Men: Apocalypse).

Written by Andrew Barrer (Ant-Man and The Wasp) and Gabriel Ferrari (Ant-Man and The Wasp), the action romance is being produced by Culmination’s Tom Butterfield, Mark Gordon, Adrian Politowski and Martin Metz. Politowski’s newly-launched Align outfit will be financing.

Die in a Gunfight is the story of a young guy (Boneta) who falls for the daughter (Daddario) of his father’s nemesis in New York City. Principal photography is set to commence in October.

“This is the time for a film like Die in a Gunfight,” said Culmination’s Tom Butterfield. “It is a classic love story wrapped in an electric, modern action/thriller setting. With this terrific creative group, we are excited to make the True Romance of this generation.”

“Gunfight was a blacklist screenplay and is one of the most loved scripts industry-wide,” added Culmination’s Harry White. “Everyone is gunning to see this movie happen. With Collin’s deft touch and this incredible international cast, I’m confident it’ll play wide.”

Alexandra Daddario garnered critical, fan and viral attention with her breakout role in the first season of Emmy-nominated HBO series True Detective. Next up, Daddario will star in Night Hunter opposite Henry Cavill and Ben Kingsley, and Can You Keep A Secret?, for which she served as executive producer. The latter film is based on the New York Times bestseller by Sophie Kinsella; Daddario stars as Emma Corrigan opposite Tyler Hoechlin. Other upcoming projects include We Summon the Darkness, Lost Girls and Love Hotels, and Happy Life.

Diego Boneta gained wide recognition for starring in the musical film Rock of Ages and in the biographical series Luis Miguel, which he also executive produced. He will next be seen in Paramount Pictures’ Terminator: Dark Fate alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton, and just wrapped production on Paul W.S. Anderson’s Monster Hunter starring Milla Jovovich and Ron Perlman.
