Netflix has debuted the Criminal trailer, which previews the upcoming series’ 12 unique crime stories set in four countries. The series will launch on the streaming service on September 20.
The series takes place exclusively within the confines of a police interview suite. This stripped down, cat-and-mouse drama will focus on the intense mental conflict between the police officer and the suspect in question.
The Criminal cast includes David Tennant, Hayley Atwell and more. The series showrunners are George Kay (Killing Eve, The Hour) and Jim Field Smith (Endeavour, The Wrong Mans). The directors include Jim Field Smith (UK, Frederic Mermoud (France), Oliver Hirschbiegel (Germany), and Mariano Barroso (Spain).
This revolutionary procedural will comprise of 12 unique stories set in four different countries: France, Spain, Germany and the UK. The episodes (45 minutes long each, and three episodes per country) will be in local language, written and directed by talent from their respective countries. Criminal is an Idiotlamp Production for Netflix. All 12 episodes of Criminal were filmed at Netflix’s production hub at Ciudad de la Tele in Madrid.
