Dave Chappelle: Sticks & Stones Stand-Up Special Revealed

Netflix surprised Dave Chappelle fans today with the announcement of a new stand-up comedy special that will launch on the streaming service on August 26th.

Titled Dave Chappelle: Sticks & Stones, you can watch a teaser for the special using the player below. The teaser features Chappelle walking in a desert with Morgan Freeman narrating and asking how he got there.

Freeman says: “This is Dave. He tells jokes for a living. Hopefully he makes people laugh. But, these days it’s a high stakes game. Hmm… how did we get here, I wonder? I don’t mean that metaphorically, I’m really asking. How did Dave get here? Hmm… What the f*ck is this? But, what do I know, I’m just Morgan Freeman. Anyway, I guess what I’m trying to say is, if you say anything, you risk everything. But, if that’s the way it’s got to be, okay fine. F*ck it. He’s back, folks.”

Dave Chappelle: Sticks & Stones is the comedian’s fifth Netflix original. Unflinching and boundary-pushing, Dave gives his provocative perspective on the tidal wave of celebrity scandals, the opioid crisis, and more — in trademarked Chappelle fashion.

Morgan Freeman, meanwhile, can next be seen in Angel Has Fallen, the third installment of the franchise which opens in theaters on August 23.
