Zombies 2 Teaser and Gabby Duran & the Unsittables Revealed

-

During last night’s Descendants 3 premiere, Disney Channel debuted the first Zombies 2 teaser and revealed the new series Gabby Duran & the Unsittables. If you were hoping to see the first footage, unfortunately you’re only getting a logo in the Zombies 2 teaser, but it should still excite fans of the first movie.

Zombies introduced Zed, a zombie football player, and Addison, a human cheerleader, who united their respective communities in the town of Seabrook. Zombies 2 begins after last year’s groundbreaking semester at Seabrook High, as a new group of outsiders—mysterious werewolves – threaten the newfound unity and cause a rift between Zed and Addison.

Reprising their roles in the 2020 release are Meg Donnelly as Addison, Milo Manheim as Zed, Kylee Russell as Eliza, Trevor Tordjman as Bucky, Carla Jeffery as Bree, James Godfrey as Bonzo, and Kingston Foster as Zoey. The roles of three teen werewolves (siblings Willa and Wyatt and their packmate Wynter) will be played by Pearce Joza (Disney’s Mech X-4), Chandler Kinney (Fox’s Lethal Weapon) and social media personality Ariel Martin (aka Baby Ariel).

Zombies 2 was written by David Light and Joseph Raso, who were nominated for a Humanitas Prize for their Zombies teleplay. The sequel will be directed by Paul Hoen, who also directed the first movie. Anna Gerb (All Is Lost, Triple Frontier), Hoen, Light and Raso are executive producers.

Disney Channel also debuted the first teasers for Gabby Duran & the Unsittables, the new series that will premiere in October. Based upon the novel written by Elise Allen and Daryle Conners, the live-action comedy series stars Kylie Cantrall as the titular character. Showrunners and writers Mike Alber and Gabe Snyder (Kirby Buckets) serve as executive producers alongside Joe Nussbaum (Just Add Magic).

In the series, Gabby Duran constantly feels like she’s living in the shadows of her uber-polished, successful mother and whip-smart younger sister. She finally finds her moment to shine when she inadvertently lands an out-of-this-world job to babysit an unruly group of very important extraterrestrial children who are hiding out on earth with their families, disguised as everyday kids. Fearless and unapologetically bold, Gabby steps up to the challenge to protect these youngsters and their secret identities, and prove she’s the best babysitter in the galaxy.

Starring alongside Cantrall is Maxwell Acee Donovan (Good Kids) as Gabby’s bestie and conspiracy-theorist Wesley; Coco Christo (We Take the Low Road) as Gabby’s overachieving little sis Olivia; Nathan Lovejoy (The Code) as the wacky Principal Swift; and Valery Ortiz (Switched at Birth) as Gabby’s caring and career-driven mom Dina. Recurring star Callan Farris (Kings) will play Jeremy, Gabby’s first babysitting assignment.
