Following a couple of international trailers, STXfilms has today debuted the first domestic Playmobil: The Movie trailer, which you can watch below. Still missing is a North American release date for the film, with the trailer saying “coming soon” for now.
Starring an A-list voice cast including Anya Taylor-Joy, Jim Gaffigan, Gabriel Bateman, Adam Lambert, Kenan Thompson, Meghan Trainor and Daniel Radcliffe, the film is directed by Disney and animation veteran Lino DiSalvo (Frozen, Tangled, Bolt) and written by Blaise Hemingway, Greg Erb and Jason Oremland.
In Playmobil‘s animated action adventure, a top secret organization has caused citizens from different lands to vanish from thin air. The dashing and charismatic secret agent Rex Dasher (Daniel Radcliffe) must partner with smooth-talking food truck driver Del (Jim Gaffigan) and Marla (Anya Taylor-Joy) a smart, savvy civilian with her own secret agenda, to rescue them. Against unthinkable odds, the trio go on a fantastic journey across stunning new worlds as they gather clues for their rescue mission.
Playmobil: The Movie is an ON Animation Studios production, with Aton Soumache, Dimitri Rassam, Alexis Vonarb, Axel Von Maydell and Moritz Borman also serving as producers.
The film features a score by veteran musician Heitor Pereira (Despicable Me trilogy, Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, The Smurfs movies, Minions) and four original songs, co-written by renowned producer, musician and songwriter Anne Preven.
