Edward Furlong Returning as John Connor for Terminator: Dark Fate

During the film’s San Diego Comic-Con panel today, James Cameron revealed via a live stream that Edward Furlong will be back for Terminator: Dark Fate. He played John Connor in Terminator 2: Judgment Day.

Director Tim Miller (Deadpool) also assured fans that the film will indeed be rated R. New footage from the movie was also screened, though the studio has not brought that online yet.

Terminator: Dark Fate has both Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton returning to their iconic roles as The Terminator and Sarah Connor from the first two films.

The new story will introduce the next generation of characters played by Mackenzie Davis (Blade Runner 2049, Halt and Catch Fire), Natalia Reyes (Lady, La Vendedora de Rosas), Gabriel Luna (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), and Diego Boneta (Scream Queen, Rock of Ages).

Produced by James Cameron and David Ellison, the upcoming Terminator movie will be a direct sequel to Cameron’s Terminator 2: Judgment Day. The film is executive produced by Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, Bonnie Curtis, Julie Lynn, Tim Miller, John Kelly, and Edward Cheng.

The Skydance movie will be distributed domestically by Paramount Pictures and internationally by Disney’s 20th Century Fox. Tencent Pictures will distribute the film in China. Terminator: Dark Fate is scheduled for a November 1, 2019 release.
