Game of Thrones Panel at Comic-Con Loses Benioff, D.B. Weiss and More

-

It looks like the Game of Thrones panel on Friday at the San Diego Comic-Con will be a little smaller than was originally announced. HBO has announced that the cast members now in attendance at the 5:30 p.m. panel will be Maisie Williams (Arya Stark), Jacob Anderson (Grey Worm), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister), Isaac Hempstead Wright (Bran Stark), John Bradley (Samwell Tarly), Liam Cunningham (Davos Seaworth), and Conleth Hill (Varys).

That means that the previously-announced Nathalie Emmanuel (Missandei of Naath), Iain Glen (Ser Jorah Mormont), creators and showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, and director and executive producer Miguel Sapochnik will no longer be attending.

HBO has given no reason for the change, though fans still get to see some of the show’s great cast members at the Game of Thrones panel.

HBO recently announced that they are releasing all eight seasons of the series in an ultra-premium, limited-edition Blu-ray set on December 3rd. You can pre-order the set, called Game of Thrones: The Complete Collection, by clicking here.

The collectible set exclusively features Game of Thrones: Reunion Special, a two-part reunion show with cast members from the final season including Kit Harington, Emilia Clarke, Sophie Turner and more, as well as previously departed fan-favorites like Sean Bean, Jason Momoa, Mark Addy and others. Hosted by Emmy-award winning host Conan O’Brien, the reunion was shot in front of a live audience in Belfast and includes segments of footage from both the show and behind-the-scenes, highlighting a variety of topics that are sure to captivate fans.

Additional bonus content includes all-new deleted and extended scenes, animated histories and lore pieces, fascinating behind-the-scene featurettes, audio commentaries and the documentary featured on DVD in two parts, Game of Thrones: The Last Watch, by filmmaker Jeanie Finlay.

Based on the best-selling novel series by George R.R. Martin, the series’ ensemble cast includes Emmy and Golden Globe winner Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister), Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister), Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen), Kit Harington (Jon Snow), Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark), Maisie Williams (Arya Stark), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister) and Iain Glen (Jorah Mormont).
