Bonneville joins a cast that includes Emmy Award winner Keegan-Michael Key (The Lion King), Tony Award winner Phylicia Rashad (Creed, Empire), Tony Award winner Anika Noni Rose (The Princess and the Frog, Power), newcomer Madalen Mills and Academy Award winner Forest Whitaker (Black Panther, Empire).
Jingle Jangle is currently in production and will be released by Netflix in 2020.
The movie is officially described as follows: “A cobblestone world comes to life in the event holiday musical tale of an embattled toymaker (Forest Whitaker), his precocious granddaughter (Madelen Mills), and a magical invention, that if they can get it to work in time for the holidays, could change their lives forever.”
The producers of Jingle Jangle are Mike Jackson (La La Land), John Legend, David E. Talbert (Almost Christmas), Lyn Sisson-Talbert (Almost Christmas), Kristin Burr (Christopher Robin), and David McIlvain (First Sunday). Vicki Dee Rock (Life) and Ty Stiklorius (All Rise) are the executive producers.
Hugh Bonneville can next be seen in the Downton Abbey movie, which will be distributed by Focus Features in North America on September 20 and by Universal Pictures International overseas on September 13.
