Aldis Hodge has been cast in Universal Pictures‘ The Invisible Man, to be written and directed by Leigh Whannell, according to Deadline. He’ll join Elisabeth Moss and Storm Reid in the film, which starts production next month in Sydney, Australia.
Aldis Hodge is known for his work in Underground, Hidden Figures, Clemency and What Men Want.
Whannell will reunite with Jason Blum, who is producing through his Blumhouse Productions. The two have previously worked together on films such as Insidious: The Last Key and Upgrade.
As was previously announced, Universal is moving on from its planned interconnected “Dark Universe” concept and will instead concentrate on the individual monster properties. Upcoming titles for Universal’s new monster strategy will be rooted in horror, with no restrictions on budget, tone, or rating, and no expectation that they will exist as part of a shared universe.
