Jeff Bushell Comedy Script Bad Dog Sells to Lionsgate


Jeff Bushell has sold a spec script to Lionsgate for a comedy feature entitled Bad Dog. Eugenio Derbez and Ben Odell’s 3Pas Entertainment is producing along with Point Grey.

Bree Bailey will oversee for Lionsgate, Carlos Aguirre will oversee for 3Pas and Josh Fagen will oversee for Point Grey.

In Bad Dog, when Satan’s favorite hound, Bub, is booted out of hell by a jealous rival, he is mistakenly adopted by a single dad and his two kids. Despite his bad ways, Bub soon begins to embrace his goodness and falls in love with the family. When Satan wants his dog back and Bub refuses, he must protect his new family from the fury of hell.

Jeff Bushell is known for his Blacklist script Ricky Stanicky, which has Peter Farrelly attached to direct. His screenwriting credits include the hit Disney film Beverly Hills Chihuahua.

Ricky Stanicky is described as follows: For years, three lifelong friends have used an invented character named Ricky Stanicky to get out of sticky situations. When their wives demand a meeting with Ricky, the friends hire an actor to portray him.

Beverly Hills Chihuahua, which stars Eugenio Derbez, opened in 2008 and grossed $149.3 million at the worldwide box office.
