Jumanji Sequel Wraps Filming in New Mexico

-

Jumanji sequel cast members Dwayne Johnson and Karen Gillan have taken to their social accounts to announce that filming has wrapped up in New Mexico. Gillan says, “Can’t believe we’ve actually wrapped on the next Jumanji movie! It’s taken me a few days to decompress and get my head on the next project. But for now, here I am thinking back on what an incredible experience it has been to make not one but two of these things!”

She added: “The original Jumanji is in my top 3 films of ALL TIME! So it’s sufficiently insane to think I ended up in the game myself…with three brilliant men to play with @therock @kevinhart4real and @jackblack. I haven’t laughed that hard in my life. Can Christmas please hurry up now? I want to go to the cinema and watch this thing.”

The Jumanji sequel has been set for a December 13, 2019 release.

Although Kevin Hart and Jack Black haven’t said anything about the production wrapping up, they have been posting lots of updates from the filming that you can check out on their socials here and here.

The returning cast members from Sony Pictures‘ Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle also include Nick Jonas, Ser’Darius Blain, Alex Wolff, Madison Iseman, and Morgan Turner.

The newcomers to the cast include Awkwafina, Danny DeVito and Danny Glover. Character details for the new cast members are being kept under wraps.

Jake Kasdan, who directed the 2017 release that grossed $962.1 million worldwide, is back to direct. The sequel’s script is by Kasdan, Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner. Matt Tolmach is producing the feature along with Johnson’s Seven Bucks and Kasdan.
