Paramount Pictures has released the trailer for the horror thriller Crawl, opening in theaters on July 12th. Directed by Alexandre Aja (The Hills Have Eyes), the film stars Kaya Scodelario and Barry Pepper. Watch the Crawl trailer below and you’ll find the poster and photos in the gallery underneath.
In addition to the trailer, Instagram influencers have started posting a cryptic Crawl-themed square that is a play on the orange square that was used by influencers to promote the failed Fyre Festival. Some of the original influencers who posted the orange square are even participating!
In the film, when a massive hurricane hits her Florida hometown, Haley (Kaya Scodelario) ignores evacuation orders to search for her missing father (Barry Pepper). Finding him gravely injured in the crawl space of their family home, the two become trapped by quickly encroaching floodwaters. As time runs out to escape the strengthening storm, Haley and her father discover that the rising water level is the least of their fears.
Ross Anderson, Anson Boon and Jose Palma also star in the movie, which was written by Michael and Shawn Rasmussen. Craig Flores, Sam Raimi and Aja are producing the film. The executive producers are Gregory Levasseur, Justin Bursch and Lauren Selig.
Kaya Scodelario is best known for her roles in Skins, The Maze Runner films, and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. Her credits also include Wuthering Heights, The Truth About Emanuel, and the new film Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile.
Barry Pepper has appeared in Saving Private Ryan, The Green Mile, Battlefield Earth, 61*, Flags of Our Fathers, True Grit, and The Kennedys, for which he won an Emmy Award.
