Bond 25 Cast and Filming Locations Announced

-

While the film does not have a title yet, EON Productions and United Artists Releasing today officially announced the Bond 25 cast in a live stream. The Bond 25 cast includes Daniel Craig as 007, Ralph Fiennes as M, Rory Kinnear as Tanner, Ben Whishaw as Q, Ben Whishaw as Q, Naomie Harris as Moneypenny, Léa Seydoux as Dr. Madeleine Swann, Jeffrey Wright as Felix Leiter, Dali Benssalah, Ana De Armas, Billy Magnussen, David Dencik, Lashana Lynch, and Rami Malek.

With shooting beginning on April 28th, the filming locations for Bond 25 include Jamaica, Norway, London and Italy. The 007 production will be based at Pinewood Studios in the UK. In the opening of the film, James Bond is not on active service and is actually enjoying himself in Jamaica. Producer Barbara Broccoli said, “we consider Jamaica Bond’s spiritual home, so he starts his journey here and we built an extraordinary house for him.” She added that they’ve got quite the ride in store for Mr. Bond.

Broccoli and producer Michael G. Wilson said: “We’re thrilled to return to Jamaica with Bond 25, Daniel Craig’s fifth installment in the 007 series, where Ian Fleming created the iconic James Bond character and Dr No and Live And Let Die were filmed.”

The official synopsis is as follows: “Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.”

Daniel Craig has played the secret agent in four films so far, including Casino Royale (2006), Quantum of Solace (2008), Skyfall (2012), and SPECTRE (2015). He also made a guest appearance as Bond in the Danny Boyle-directed opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games, alongside Queen Elizabeth II.

Cary Joji Fukunaga will direct from a script by Neal Purvis & Robert Wade, Scott Z. Burns with Fukunaga and Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Other members of the creative team are: Director of Photography Linus Sandgren; Editor Tom Cross and Elliot Graham; Production Designer Mark Tildesley; Costume Designer Suttirat Larlarb; Supervising Stunt Coordinator Olivier Schneider; 2nd Unit Stunt Coordinator Lee Morrison; and Visual Effects Supervisor Charlie Noble. Returning members to the team are: 2nd Unit Director Alexander Witt; Special Effects and Action Vehicles Supervisor Chris Corbould; and Casting Director Debbie McWilliams.

Metro Goldwyn Mayer will release the 25th James Bond feature film domestically through their United Artists Releasing banner on April 8, 2020; through Universal Pictures International and Metro Goldwyn Mayer in the UK and internationally from April 3, 2020.

The announcement took place at GoldenEye in Jamaica, once the home of Ian Fleming where he created the James Bond character in 1952. Ian Fleming wrote 12 novels and two collections of short stories on the island. GoldenEye will not be used as a filming location for Bond 25. The first 007 film, Dr No, produced by Albert R Broccoli and Harry Saltzman, Fleming’s sixth novel, filmed on location in Jamaica in 1962 starring Sean Connery.
