The Walt Disney Company is reporting that the Avengers: Endgame opening day box office in China will be about RMB719M ($107.2 million), which is a combination of last night’s midnights of RMB189M ($28.2 million) and estimated Wednesday grosses of RMB530M ($79 million).
The $107.2 million represents the highest industry opening day of all-time in China (both local and foreign), surpassing the previous opening day record held by Monster Hunt 2 (RMB547M) which did not have midnights but did open on the first day of Chinese New Year, as well as The Fate of the Furious’ RMB480M (including RMB62M midnights) and Avengers: Infinity War’s RMB447M (including RMB60M midnights).
