World War Z Launch Trailer Brings on the Hordes of Zombies

-

Saber Interactive and Focus Home Interactive have unleashed the World War Z launch trailer, which you can watch below. Available on consoles and PC on April 16, the co-op shooter was inspired by Paramount Pictures‘ blockbuster film.

World War Z is a four-player cooperative third-person shooter featuring massive swarms of zombies that recklessly rush their living prey. Focused on fast-paced gameplay, World War Z explores new storylines and characters from around the world in tense, overwhelming, gruesomely exciting missions crafted specifically for modern consoles and PC.

The swarm feels neither fear nor mercy. It rolls forward to spread and consume. Together, make your stand and unload an arsenal of deadly weaponry into these hundreds of swarming zombies. Feel the satisfying rush of life as you cheat death and prevail against such overwhelming odds. Cut the undead down with rocket launchers, machine guns, sentries, turrets, grenade launchers, barbed wire, and more.

Humanity is on the brink of extinction. From New York, to Moscow, to Jerusalem, the undead apocalypse continues to spread. Countless millions of ravenous zombies without feeling or fear overwhelm and infect the embattled survivors of World War Z. As the end looms, a hardened few band together and endure. Alone, we are easily overcome. Together, we may yet bring down the horde and press on. For our story – the story of humanity – can only live on if we do.

World War Z’s co-op campaign takes place across four episodes, each containing three chapters, set in New York, Jerusalem, Moscow and Tokyo. Before diving into a chapter, you will need to select a class and weapon loadout. Whether supporting the team with ammo and heals, specializing in explosives or unleashing devastating firepower, you’ll find a class suited to any playstyle.

In World War Z, every play session tells its own unique story of survival through the help of the AI director, which constantly adapts to the actions of you and your squad. For example, a stealthy approach is rewarded with far less zombies spawns, allowing you to conserve precious ammunition. When it comes to massive swarm events, struggling squads may also be granted additional defensive equipment such as an extra auto turret or mortar.

Alongside the narrative-driven campaign, players can also compete against each other in 4v4 across a variety of Player vs Player vs Zombies modes. This includes zombified twists on classics such as King of the Hill, Domination and Deathmatch, alongside the all-new Scavenge Raid and Vaccine Hunt modes. Watch our PvPvZ trailer here to catch up on the competitive undead action.

World War Z will launch on April 16, 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC via the Epic Games Store. The World War Z retail version comes with the Lobo Weapon Pack, featuring three golden weapon skins and the dual-bladed Lobo spade, at no extra charge.
