Universal Pictures today announced the studio has pushed back the release dates for two of its upcoming animated sequels. Illumination’s Sing 2 is moving from Friday, December 25, 2020, to Friday, July 2, 2021, taking the place of the currently-dated Untitled Illumination Animated Film.
Also, DreamWorks Animation‘s The Croods 2 will move from Friday, September 18, 2020, to Wednesday, December 23, 2020.
On Independence Day weekend 2021, Buster, Meena, Rosita, Gunter, Johnny and Ash prepare for a bigger stage and a brighter spotlight as they leave the Moon Theater for the big city in Sing 2. From Illumination, the creators of Despicable Me, Minions, and The Secret Life of Pets, comes the follow-up to its smash all-audience event film about the transformative power of music.
The next chapter in the blockbuster series from writer/director Garth Jennings welcomes back Academy Award winners Matthew McConaughey and Reese Witherspoon, alongside Scarlett Johansson, Taron Egerton, Nick Kroll and Tori Kelly.
