Australian filmmaker Cate Shortland (Lore) is expected to start directing the movie, centering on Johansson’s Natasha Romanoff, in London this June.
While plot details are being kept under wraps, Pugh is said to play a spy on the same level as Romanoff and could be her moral opposite.
In addition to Fighting with My Family, Florence Pugh’s feature credits include The Falling, Lady Macbeth, The Commuter, King Lear, Outlaw King, and Malevolent. She’s also had roles in TV titles Marcella, King Lear, and The Little Drummer Girl.
