Henson and Helms to Star in Coffee & Kareem for Netflix

Taraji P. Henson and Ed Helms are set to star in Coffee & Kareem for Netflix. Michael Dowse (Stuber, Goon) to direct the Black List script by Shane McCarthy.

In the film, a Detroit cop reluctantly teams with his girlfriend’s 11-year-old son to clear his name and take down the city’s most ruthless criminal.

Academy Award nominee and Golden Golden winner Taraji P. Henson can currently be seen in What Men Want. She next stars opposite Sam Rockwell in Best of Enemies. He other credits include Hidden Figures, Empire, and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

Ed Helms was most recently seen in the ensemble comedy Tag opposite Jeremy Renner and Jon Hamm. His other notable credits include The Hangover trilogy alongside Bradley Cooper and Zach Galifianakis, Chappaquidick, Father Figures, The Office, and The Daily Show.

Ed Helms and Mike Falbo are producing via their Pacific Electric Pictures Co banner. The company’s credits include Corporate Animals, starring Demi Moore and Helms, which was recently acquired at Sundance by Screen Media, The Clapper starring Amanda Seyfried, and the Comedy Central special, The Fake News with Ted Nelms, which was recently honored with a Writers Guild of America Award for the Best Comedy/Variety Special.

The executive producers are Sanford Nelson, Jordon Foss, Linden Nelson, and Don Foss.
