Scooby-Doo Voices Announced for the Animated Feature

Will Forte (Last Man on Earth), Gina Rodriguez (Jane the Virgin), Tracy Morgan (The Last O.G.), and Frank Welker (Transformers) will provide their voices for the upcoming Scooby-Doo animated feature, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Tony Cervone is directing the movie for Warner Bros. Animation. The film will be produced by Chris Columbus, Charles Roven, and Allison Abbate.

Forte will voice Shaggy and Rodriguez is voicing Velma. Welker has provided the voices of Fred since 1968 and Scooby-Doo since 2002. Morgan will voice Captain Caveman, who is not a part of the Scooby universe but rather a part of the larger Hanna-Barbera universe. Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels did kick off as part of Scooby’s All-Star Laff-A-Lympics in the ’70s, however.

The trade says the movie’s story sees the Mystery Inc. gang join forces with other heroes of the Hanna-Barbera universe to save the world from Dick Dastardly and his evil plans… and this time, the threat is real. The movie is slated for a May 2020 release.

The Scooby-Doo movie is scheduled for a May 15, 2020 release.

Scooby-Doo previously hit the big screen in two live-action/CGI hybrids in 2002 and 2004 starring Freddie Prinze Jr. as Fred, Sarah Michelle Gellar as Daphne, Matthew Lillard as Shaggy, and Linda Cardellini as Velma. Neil Fanning provided the voice of Scooby in those two films.
