Aquaman 2 Release Date Set for December 2022

With the first film having grossed an impressive $1.138 billion worldwide, Warner Bros. Pictures today set the Aquaman 2 release date for December 16, 2022. No other film is scheduled for that date yet. Frequent James Want collaborator David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick will pen the follow-up.

Aquaman will be available on Digital and Blu-ray in March. An Aquaman exhibit will also open at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood on March 5th.

From director James Wan comes Aquaman, the origin story of half-surface dweller, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry that takes him on the journey of his lifetime—one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be… a king. The action-packed adventure spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, and stars Jason Momoa in the title role.

The Aquaman cast also includes Amber Heard (Justice LeagueMagic Mike XXL) as Mera, a fierce warrior and Aquaman’s ally throughout his journey, Oscar nominee Willem Dafoe (PlatoonSpider-Man 2) as Vulko, council to the Atlantean throne, Patrick Wilson (The Conjuring films, Watchmen) as Orm/Ocean Master, the present King of Atlantis, Dolph Lundgren (The Expendables films) as Nereus, King of the Atlantean tribe Xebel, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (BaywatchThe Get Down) as the revenge-seeking Black Manta, and Oscar winner Nicole Kidman (The HoursLion) as Arthur’s mom, Atlanna. Also featured are Ludi Lin (Power Rangers) as Captain Murk, an Atlantean Commando, and Temuera Morrison (Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the ClonesGreen Lantern) as Arthur’s dad, Tom Curry.
