Monster Hunter Release Date Set for 2020

Sony Pictures‘ Screen Gems has announced the Monster Hunter release date will be September 4, 2020. No other movie is scheduled to be released on that date yet. Milla Jovovich plays Captain Natalie Artemis and Tony Jaa is The Hunter in the video game adaptation.

Behind our world, there is another — a world of dangerous and powerful monsters that rule their domain with deadly ferocity. When Lt. Artemis (Milla Jovovich) and her loyal soldiers are transported from our world to the new world, the unflappable lieutenant receives the shock of her life. In her desperate battle for survival against enormous enemies with incredible powers and unstoppable, terrifying attacks, Artemis will team up with a mysterious man (Tony Jaa) who has found a way to fight back.

Tip “T.I.” Harris, Meagan Good, Diego Boneta, Josh Helman, Jin Au-Yeung and Ron Perlman co-star.

Monster Hunter is written and directed by Paul W. S. Anderson (Resident Evil films). The movie is produced by Anderson and Jeremy Bolt from Impact Pictures, and by Robert Kulzer and Martin Moszkowicz from Constantin Film. Dennis Berardi, head of VFX for the film, also acts as producer.

The Monster Hunter series consists of hunting action games that pit players against giant monsters in a beautiful natural environment. Since the first Monster Hunter title made its debut 14 years ago in 2004, the series has attracted a dedicated fan base, and overall grown into a mega-hit, with cumulative sales of the series exceeding 50 million units.

Monster Hunter: World, the latest title in the series, enthralled game players the world over and shipped 10 million units, making it the best-selling title in Capcom history.
