Anya Taylor-Joy to Star in Edgar Wright's Last Night in Soho

Anya Taylor-Joy, who can currently be seen in Glass, will play one of the leads in Edgar Wright’s next film, titled Last Night in Soho, according to Variety.

The movie will shoot this summer from a screenplay co-written by Wright and Krysty Wilson-Cairns (Penny Dreadful). Last Night in Soho is a Focus Features and Working Title co-production.

Edgar Wright previously described the project as a psychological horror thriller set in London and starring a female lead. Citing Don’t Look Now and Roman Polanski’s Repulsion as influences, Edgar Wright’s said the film “is about the London I’ve existed in.” He added: “I realized I had never made a film about central London – specifically Soho, somewhere I’ve spent a huge amount of time in the last 25 years. With Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead you make movies about places you’ve lived in.”

Taylor-Joy, whose credits include The Witch and Split, can be seen in upcoming The New Mutants and The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance.

Edgar Wright’s last film, Baby Driver, was a runaway success in 2017 with $226.9 million earned on a budget of just $34 million.
