Rosario Dawn (Luke Cage, upcoming Briarpatch) will play a role in Sony Pictures‘ upcoming Zombieland sequel, according to Deadline. Filming starts this week.

Zombieland 2 will take the four heroes from the White House to the American heartland as they face off against new kinds of zombies that have evolved since the first movie, as well as some new human survivors.

The Zombieland sequel has been set for October 11, 2019, which means the new movie will open in theaters about 10 years after the original. Lauren Abrahams will oversee the project for the studio.

Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer (Venom) will again direct and the original film’s writers, Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, are also back and will executive produce as well. Gavin Polone is also back to produce.

The first film hit theaters in October 2009 and grossed $102.4 million worldwide ($75.6 million in North America). It cost less than $24 million to make.

In Zombieland, nerdy college student Columbus (Eisenberg) has survived the plague that has turned mankind into flesh-devouring zombies because he’s scared of just about everything. Gun-toting, Twinkie-loving Tallahassee (Harrelson) has no fears. Together, they are about to stare down their most horrifying challenge yet: each other’s company.
