Filming for Wonder Woman 1984 wrapped just before Christmas and we’ll still have a long wait until the sequel’s release on June 5, 2020, but director Patty Jenkins already knows where she wants Diana Prince’s story to go in Wonder Woman 3.
Talking to Vanity Fair about her new series with Chris Pine, I Am the Night, Jenkins said: “I have pretty clear plans for Wonder Woman 3. Whether I [direct] it or not, I see how her arc should end in my incarnation of Wonder Woman. I have great passion for that.”
Something tells us she will be directing Wonder Woman 3 as well!
Wonder Woman 1984 stars Gal Gadot, Kristen Wiig, Pedro Pascal, Natasha Rothwell, and Chris Pine. Charles Roven, Deborah Snyder, Zack Snyder, Patty Jenkins, Stephen Jones and Gal Gadot are producing the film. Rebecca Roven Oakley, Richard Suckle, Wesley Coller, Geoff Johns and Walter Hamada are the executive producers.
Joining her behind the scenes are several members of Jenkins’ Wonder Woman team, including director of photography Matthew Jensen, Oscar-nominated production designer Aline Bonetto (Amélie), and Oscar-winning costume designer Lindy Hemming (Topsy-Turvy). Oscar-nominated editor Richard Pearson (United 93) will cut the film.
Wonder Woman 1984 is based on the character created by William Moulton Marston, appearing in comic books published by DC Entertainment.
