The CW is given a first look at Jon Cryer (Two and a Half Men) as Lex Luthor on Supergirl Season 4 today. Lex Luthor has been in prison since the series began, which explains the maximum-security cell.
Look for Cryer to make his debut in Supergirl’s 15th episode this season, entitled “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” on Sunday, March 17. In it, Lex Luthor reaches out from prison to enlist Lena (Katie McGrath) into one of his plans and will stop at nothing to get her on board, even if that means leveraging the life of one of her friends.
Lex’s mistrust of Superman traditionally has a lot to do with the fact that he’s not human. In other words, Lex’s opinion about aliens living among us probably isn’t too far removed from Agent Liberty’s. Could we see the two villains possibly teaming up down the road?
Executive Producers Robert Rovner and Jessica Queller previously said: “We’re beyond excited to introduce iconic villain, Lex Luthor, to Supergirl and to weave him into our story this season. We’ve talked about having Lex on the show since its inception and we’re excited to have him finally arrive. We can’t wait for him to shake things up in National City and watch him go toe to toe with not only Supergirl, but his sister Lena Luthor.”
Based on the DC characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, the series is executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Robert Rovner and Jessica Queller. Supergirl is produced by Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.
