Hong Chau Joins the Cast of HBO's Watchmen

Deadline is reporting that Downsizing actress Hong Chau has joined the cast of HBO‘s Watchmen series in a key role. The site says they are hearing that Hong Chau will play Lady T., who is Vietnamese.

The Damon Lindelof series, debuting on HBO this year, is set in an alternate history where “superheroes” are treated as outlaws. Watchmen embraces the nostalgia of the original groundbreaking graphic novel while attempting to break new ground of its own.

The Watchmen series cast will include Regina King, Jeremy Irons, Don Johnson, Tim Blake Nelson, Louis Gossett Jr., Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Adelaide Clemens, Andrew Howard, Tom Mison, Frances Fisher, Jacob Ming-Trent, Sara Vickers, Dylan Schombing, Lily Rose Smith, and Adelynn Spoon.

Damon Lindelof is executive producing and writing the series, which also be executive produced by Nicole Kassell, Tom Spezialy, Stephen Williams, and Joseph Iberti. The pilot will be directed by Kassell.

Watchmen is produced for HBO by White Rabbit in association with Warner Bros. Television, based on characters from DC. The series will be adapted from Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ limited comic book series, which was previously turned into a Zack Snyder-directed movie in 2009.
