For the opening of gamescom 2019, around 1,500 fans can expect the absolute mega-event of the gaming industry in the new gamescom event arena, produced by Geoff Keighley, host and producer of the The Game Awards. The gamescom Opening Night Live stream starts on Monday, August 19 at 8:00 p.m. MESZ, 2:00 p.m. EDT, and 11:00 a.m. PDT.
gamescom Opening Night Live is a two-hour showcase of upcoming games and announcements. The show will include an appearance by Hideo Kojima and world premiere content from Death Stranding, Gears 5, Predator: Hunting Grounds, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Need for Speed Heat, Borderlands 3, and much more.
The announcements will come from companies such as 2K, Activision, Bandai Namco Entertainment, Bungie, Capcom, Electronic Arts, Epic Games, Google Stadia, Koch Media/Deep Silver, Private Division, SEGA, Square Enix, Sony Interactive Entertainment, THQ Nordic GmbH, Ubisoft, and Xbox Game Studios. A number of independent game studios will also make announcements.
Hideo Kojima will preview Death Stranding, which is coming to the PlayStation 4 on November 8 and can be pre-ordered here. In the game, besieged by death’s tide at every turn, Sam Bridges (Norman Reedus) must brave a world utterly transformed by the Death Stranding. Carrying the stranded remnants of the future in his hands, Sam embarks on a journey to reunite the shattered world one step at a time. The cast also includes Mads Mikkelsen as Cliff, Léa Seydoux as Fragile, Margaret Qualley as Mama, Guillermo del Toro as Deadman, Nicolas Winding Refn as Heartman, Tommie Earl Jenkins as Die-Hardman, Troy Baker as Higgs, and Lindsay Wagner as Amelie.
