Carmen Sandiego Launching on Netflix January 18

Netflix has announced that the animated Carmen Sandiego series, voiced by Golden Globe winner Gina Rodriguez (Jane the Virgin, Annihilation), will launch on January 18, 2019.

Carmen is a modern day Robin Hood traveling the globe and stealing from V.I.L.E. and giving back to its victims. Carmen is publicly perceived as a criminal by most law enforcement agencies – correction, make that a master criminal due to the sheer scale and theatricality of her heists. We will follow her escapades and get to determine not only where but WHO in the world is Carmen Sandiego?

Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things) will voice Player, Carmen’s accomplice and confidant, in the series. Carmen Sandiego is executive produced by Duane Capizzi (The Batman).

Netflix previously also acquired the live-action feature film rights to Carmen Sandiego for Rodriguez to star in and produce through her I Can and I Will productions alongside Kevin Misher and Caroline Fraser, who will also produce. Andy Berman of Misher films is the executive producer.
