Emmy winner Joe Pantoliano (The Sopranos, The Matrix) will reprise the role of Captain Howard in Bad Boys for Life, according to Deadline. He will reunite with Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, who both announced on November 1st that the third installment was a go. Pantoliano played Captain Howard in both Bad Boys and Bad Boys II.
Filming is scheduled to begin in January. Sony Pictures will distribute the action comedy, which currently is scheduled for a January 17, 2020 release date.
Bad Boys hit theaters in April 1995 and grossed $141.4 million worldwide, while Bad Boys II reached $273 million globally in 2003. Both those films were directed by Michael Bay, but the third installment has Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah at the helm. Jerry Bruckheimer is back again to produce the film.
In addition to Smith, Lawrence and Pantoliano, the first film co-stars Tcheky Karyo, Theresa Randle, and Tea Leoni, while the second one also features Theresa Randle, Peter Stormare, and Gabrielle Union.
