DC Comics has revealed new Elseworlds comic book art (see gallery below) to promote the upcoming Arrowverse crossover event. Drawn by comic book artist Amy Reeder, the illustration includes the classic, all-lowercase “elseworlds” logo.

With LaMonica Garrett’s Monitor seen looming in the background, Reeder’s illustration portrays the heroes of the crossover—Green Arrow, the Flash, Supergirl, Superman and Batwoman—seemingly battling each other. As we’ve mentioned before, Oliver Queen and Barry Allen will switch places, which is depicted in the image as well. Beneath them, Jeremy Davies’ maniacal-looking Dr. John Deegan can be seen looking up at them in delight, suggesting he might be the cause of the mayhem.

The crossover starts on Sunday, Dec. 9 with The Flash at 8 p.m., followed by Arrow on Dec. 10 at 8 p.m., and concluding Dec. 11 at the same time with SupergirlDC’s Legends of Tomorrow is not part of the crossover this year.

In related news, Jon Cryer (Two and a Half Men) has been cast as Lex Luthor in The CW’s Supergirl. Cryer will make his first appearance as Lex Luthor on the series’ upcoming 15th episode of the show’s current and fourth season. Cryor previously played Lenny Luthor, nephew to Gene Hackman’s Lex, in the 1987 feature Superman IV: A Quest for Peace.

“We are enormous fans of Jon Cryer, and he was instantly our dream actor to play the iconic role of Lex Luthor,” said Supergirl executive producers Robert Rovner and Jessica Queller. “Jon is a super-talent, and the fact that he played Lenny Luthor in Superman IV brings an added layer of legacy to his casting. We’re beyond thrilled to welcome Jon to the Supergirl family.”
