Pedro Pascal to Star in Star Wars Series The Mandalorian

The series will launch on Disney+ next year

Pedro Pascal is in negotiations to star in Star Wars series The Mandalorian, according to Variety. Pascal’s TV credits include Game of Thrones and Narcos, while he’s appeared in the features Kingsman: The Golden CircleThe Equalizer 2, and the upcoming If Beale Street Could Talk and Wonder Woman 1984.

After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

The series will be written and executive produced by Emmy-nominated producer and actor Jon Favreau, with Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels) directing the first episode. Additional episodic directors include Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates), and Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok).

The Mandalorian will be executive produced by Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson. Karen Gilchrist will serve as co-executive producer.

The Mandalorian will launch on Disney+, the company’s new streaming service, in late 2019.
