Hailee Steinfeld has debuted her new song, “Back to Life,” from the soundtrack for Bumblebee, opening in theaters on December 21. You can listen to “Back to Life” in full using the player above.

Steinfeld said earlier this week in an Instagram post: “I can’t believe this is finally happening…I am beyond thrilled to announce the release of my new song #BackToLife, (OUT FRIDAY) which will be featured in @bumblebeemovie. This will be the first time I have a song of my own in a movie that I’ve made. #PinchMe / #StingMe”

On the run in the year 1987, Bumblebee finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town. Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld), on the cusp of turning 18 and trying to find her place in the world, discovers Bumblebee, battle-scarred and broken. When Charlie revives him, she quickly learns this is no ordinary, yellow VW bug.

Directed by Travis Knight from a script by Christina Hodson and Kelly Fremon Craig, the film also stars John Cena, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., John Ortiz, Jason Drucker, Pamela Adlon, and Stephen Schneider.

The film’s producers are Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Tom DeSanto & Don Murphy, and Michael Bay, and the executive producers are Steven Spielberg, Brian Goldner, Mark Vahradian, and Chris Brigham.

Paramount Pictures is distributing the movie this December.
