John Wesley Shipp's 1990s' Flash Joins Elseworlds Crossover

We’ve already seen Superman’s black suit and a switched Oliver and Barry, and now it’s been revealed that John Wesley Shipp will appear as his Flash from the ’90s in The CW‘s Elseworlds crossover as well! John Wesley Shipp played Barry Allen on CBS’s The Flash from 1990 to 1991. He has since played both Henry Allen and Jay Garrick on the current The Flash series.

You can view both Stephen Amell’s photos, which also include Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen, Melissa Benoist’s Supergirl, and Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman, via the posts below. We’ve also included a photo posted by Marc Guggenheim.

Elseworlds was the publication imprint for American comic books produced by DC Comics for stories that took place outside the DC Universe canon.

Elizabeth Tulloch (Grimm) will play Lois Lane in the crossover. She is joined by newcomers Cassandra Jean Amell (Stephen Amell’s real-life wife) as Nora Fries, the wife of Mr. Freeze, LaMonica Garrett (Designated Survivor) as The Monitor, and Jeremy Davies as Dr. John Deegan.

Of course, the big new casting is Ruby Rose as Batwoman (view the first photo). The Elseworlds crossover event will mark her first appearance, but Rose will also play the role in the Batwoman series in development for the 2019-20 season.

The crossover starts on Sunday, Dec. 9 with The Flash at 8 p.m., followed by Arrow on Dec. 10 at 8 p.m., and concluding Dec. 11 at the same time with SupergirlDC’s Legends of Tomorrow is not part of the crossover this year.
