WaterTower Music today announced the details of the Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald soundtrack. Grammy and Emmy Award winner and multiple Oscar nominee James Newton Howard (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, The Hunger Games franchise) returned as the composer, creating a robust, 25-track soundtrack which will be available to stream and purchase digitally on November 9. Fans are able to hear two of those tracks early, as WaterTower Music has just released both “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald” and “Salamander Eyes.” Check them out below!

In addition to the score, the soundtrack will treat fans to three solo piano cues performed by James Newton Howard and not heard in the film: “Dumbledore’s Theme (Solo Piano),” “Fantastic Beasts Theme (Solo Piano),” and “Leta’s Theme (Solo Piano).” Those three tracks are scheduled to be released on October 26, 2018.

“To work on Fantastic Beasts is a wonderful musical opportunity,” describes composer James Newton Howard. “The movie is delightful, substantial, and complex; and [director] David Yates focuses very seriously on the music and is a truly passionate and enthusiastic collaborator.”

The album is scheduled to be released digitally on November 9, a week before the film’s release. It will be released on CD on November 30, 2018 and on vinyl in January 2019.

At the end of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) was captured by MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America), with the help of Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne). But, making good on his threat, Grindelwald escaped custody and has set about gathering followers, most unsuspecting of his true agenda: to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all non-magical beings.
