Chris Evans Joins Daniel Craig in Rian Johnson's Knives Out

He just said his goodbye to Captain America earlier today, but news has already come in that Chris Evans will next star in Rian Johnson’s murder mystery, Knives Out. Evans will be joining Daniel Craig in the film, to be directed by Rian Johnson (Star Wars: The Last Jedi). Johnson wrote the script and will produce with partner Ram Bergman.

While it is unknown who Chris Evans will be playing, Knives Out was described as a modern day murder mystery in the classic whodunit style. It is reportedly gathering a lot of bidders and will be financed by a new company from Bergman and Johnson.

Johnson, whose love of Agatha Christie inspired the story in the new film, previously said: “I have been a huge fan and always wanted to work with [Daniel Craig] and as I worked on the script, trying to get it right, Ram and I were wringing our hands over who could be the detective. Then, serendipitously, we heard Daniel might have a small window, and it worked out. He’s an actor of extraordinary range, and we are looking forward to the fun of finding that modern detective, and collaborating with Daniel on creating a new Poirot.”

Filming is expected to begin in November. Johnson is set to begin directing the first of a new Star Wars trilogy after Knives Out.
