Riot Revealed in Venom Comic-Con Footage

Sony Pictures brought Venom director Ruben Fleischer and stars Tom Hardy and Riz Ahmed to the San Diego Comic-Con to show new footage from the October 5 release. In the Venom Comic-Con footage, it was revealed that the symbiote Riot will be in the film.

Riz Ahmed’s character, Dr. Carlton Drake, will be possessed by Riot and will fight Venom. Dr. Carlton Drake founded the Life Foundation. “He wants to do right by humanity,” said Ahmed.

As far as Riot, Fleischer said: “He has a unique trait. You don’t know where Riot is going to turn up.” He added: “There may be other villains in Venom. But we don’t want to give it away.”

And what about Venom ever facing Spider-Man? “At some point down the road they will hopefully cross paths,” said Fleischer. “Go toe to toe with Tom Holland? I’ll have a go! He’s an awesome actor. I’d love to work with him,” Tom Hardy added.

Also starring Michelle Williams, Scott Haze, and Reid Scott, the film was written by Scott Robenberg & Jeff Pinkner and Kelly Marcel and Will Beall. Venom is produced by Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, and Amy Pascal, and executive produced by David Householter.
