Sony Pictures made a few changes to its release date schedule today. Most notably, the studio has set release dates for both Zombieland 2 and Bloodshot, while they have moved up Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and completely removed The Crow from their schedule.
Zombieland 2, which recently received the green light, has been set for October 11, 2019 (The Crow‘s old date, before it was removed). That means the sequel will open in theaters about 10 years after the original film, which hit theaters on October 2, 2009. Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, Jesse Eisenberg and Abigail Breslin are all returning for Zombieland 2, as is the first film’s director, Ruben Fleischer. Zombieland 2 will take the four heroes from the White House to the American heartland as they face off against new kinds of zombies that have evolved since the first movie, as well as some new human survivors.
Starring Vin Diesel, the adaptation of Valiant Comics’ Bloodshot is set for a release on February 21, 2020. Directed by Dave Wilson, the film will also star Toby Kebbell, Sam Heughan, Eiza Gonzalez, Michael Sheen, Talulah Riley, Alex Hernandez, and Johannes Haukur Johannesson.
Coming back to 2019, Sony Pictures has moved up Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood from August 9, 2019 to July 26, 2019. The highly-anticipated film stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, Dakota Fanning, James Marsden, Clifton Collins Jr., Timothy Olyphant, Emile Hirsch, Scoot McNairy, Damian Lewis, Burt Reynolds, Michael Madsen, Tim Roth, Luke Perry, Keith Jefferson, Nicholas Hammond, and Al Pacino.
Also in 2019, Greta Gerwig’s Lady Bird follow-up Little Women will open in theaters on Christmas Day. Emma Stone, Meryl Streep, Saoirse Ronan, and Timothee Chalamet star in the drama.
A few 2018 movies’ release dates were updated as well. Slenderman is now set for August 10 (previously August 24), Searching is coming on August 24 in limited release (previously August 3), and White Boy Rick will now open wide on September 14 (previously limited).
