Smallville Alum Sam Witwer Joins Supergirl Season 4

EW reports that yet another Smallville alum has joined the cast of Supergirl. Sam Witwer, who played Doomsday on Smallville Season 8, has joined the fourth season of The CW series in the regular role of DC Comics character Agent Liberty.

According to the magazine, “Agent Liberty is the ruthless and terrifying founder and figurehead of Children of Liberty, a hate group that supports a human-first world order.” He is said to be “a brilliant orator in the guise of a family man” and he can easily convince people that he’s right.

Witwer is now part of the Smallville group of actors who have had roles. Erica Durance plays the recurring character of Kara’s mother, Alura Zor-El, and Laura Vandervoort played Indigo in Season 1.

Season 3 saw Supergirl stop Reign and the other Worldkillers’ threat to humanity and our planet, and in the process Kara was shocked to find her mother Alura alive and living in a salvaged Argo City that survived the destruction of Krypton. Reconnecting with her past caused Kara to realize that her true home is now here on Earth, where big changes are taking place for her and all of her friends in National City and also, it appears, for a doppelganger in Russia!

From Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, Supergirl’s fourth season will premiere in its new Sunday 8/7c time slot on October 14.
