The series will premiere on Monday, Dec.19, on Paramount+ in the U.K. and Australia. Premiere dates for other Paramount+ international markets will be announced at a later date.

The next installment of the Dutton family origin story, 1923, will introduce a new generation of Duttons, led by patriarch Jacob (Ford) and matriarch Cara (Mirren).

The series will explore the early 20th century, when pandemics, historic drought, the end of Prohibition, and the Great Depression plagued the mountain west and the Duttons who call it home.

In addition to Ford and Mirren, 1923 also stars Darren Mann (Animal Kingdom), Michelle Randolph (A Snow White Christmas), James Badge Dale (Hightown), Marley Shelton (Scream), Brian Geraghty (Big Sky), Aminah Nieves (Blueberry), and Jerome Flynn (Game of Thrones).

Mirroring the successful launches of the record-breaking limited series 1883, which chronicled the Duttons as they traveled to what would become the family homestead in Montana and Mayor of Kingstown, Paramount Network will also host a linear airing of the 1923 debut episode on December 18, immediately following a new episode of Yellowstone as a special simulcast event.

The second episode will air on Paramount Network on January 1st.

Produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios, and Bosque Ranch Productions, 1923 is executive produced by Taylor Sheridan, John Linson, Art Linson, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari and Ben Richardson.

1923 is the latest addition to Sheridan’s growing slate on Paramount+, which includes 1883, Mayor of Kingstown, Tulsa King, and the upcoming shows Lioness and Land Man.

Paramount+ and Paramount Home Entertainment today also announced that the terrifying and inventive horror phenomenon Smile will be available to stream on Paramount+ and to purchase digitally beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, Nov. 15, in the U.S. and Canada and across most Paramount+ markets outside the U.S. in 2023.

The film has earned more than $200 million in global box office grosses to date, making it the #1 original horror film of the year.

Paramount Pictures presents, in association with Paramount Players, the groundbreaking psychological thriller starring Sosie Bacon (Scream: The TV Series), Jessie T. Usher (Dangerous Lies), and Kyle Gallner (A Nightmare on Elm Street).

The movie also stars Robert Weigert (The Undying), Caitlin Stasey (Bridge and Tunnel), Kal Penn (The Sisterhood of Night), and Rob Morgan (The Unforgivable).

After witnessing a bizarre, traumatic incident involving a patient, Dr. Rose Cotter (Sosie Bacon) starts experiencing frightening occurrences that she can’t explain.

As an overwhelming terror begins taking over her life, Rose must confront her troubling past in order to survive and escape her horrifying new reality.

Smile, a Temple Hill production, is written and directed by Parker Finn (watch our interview). Marty Bowen, Wyck Godfrey, Isaac Klausner, and Robert Salerno produced the film, which was executive-produced by Adam Fishbach.

Smile is rated R for strong violent content, grisly images, and language.
